My name is Mike Hassett, and I’m the owner of Green State Pools & Spas. Construction and equipment have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I spent countless hours learning from my grandfather while sitting beside him in heavy equipment, and by the time I was seven years old, I was already operating excavators on my own.

After spending years in excavation and site work, I stepped away from the industry for a period of time to pursue a career in sales and customer service. That experience taught me the importance of communication, transparency, and building strong relationships with customers — skills that continue to shape the way I do business today.

In 2020, I returned to my roots and founded Green State Excavating, combining my background in excavation with the customer-focused approach I developed through sales. Green State Pools & Spas is a natural extension of that experience and the perfect blend of both career paths. Pool projects require the technical knowledge and site expertise that come from years in excavation, while also demanding strong communication and customer care to make the process smooth and enjoyable for homeowners.

As a locally owned Vermont business, community means everything to us. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me coaching youth baseball, teeball, or football for my kids. I take pride in helping local families create outdoor spaces where they can relax, entertain, and make memories together for years to come.
